Guess that idiom!!

What do you think this idiom really means?

**Here is a hint: Paul graduated from high school at the top of his class. Then he was able to get a great job with a big company. Now he feels like he is 'on top of the world'.

  1. I think "on top of the world" means feeling awesome myself or feeling best. What is the correct answer?
The earth is globular, isn't it? Where is the top? Where is the bottom?

  2. Yes, Masa great answer!! You are correct! to be `on top of the world' means that you are REALLY HAPPY!! Also interesting point of view; in fact there is no top or bottom of the world. This shows that if the idiom is taken literally it has no meaning.
