What the...!?

We stopped in Korea on our way home and did some shopping.
We found these strange things in front of a restaurant.
They kind of look like.... well... you know what they look like.
I guess they are some kind of sea cucumber?

HOLIDAY!

I was in the Philippines (Cebu/Matcan) last week.

FIGHTING CHICKEN!!!

 Weather was fantastic.

Let's go for a swim?

I'm JESUS! I can walk on water!!!

Trying to take a photo, forgot to smile...

FOOD! I hope that's not the fighting chicken?

How does it taste? Yum?

Church, church, church on the beach.

Much easier if you let someone else take the photo.

We would sneak into resorts and pretend to be guests.

Last week I went to Hawaii for a few days. It was faaaar too short but I had a fantastic time going to the beach, surfing, laughing with my friends and of course, shopping! I got myself some very cute shoes and that sure makes me happy!!! Here are a few pictures! 1st picture -> Alamoana and waikiki beach, 2nd picture -> Alamoana beach, 3rd picture-> I think it talks for itself!
Your favorite Australian teacher will be back next week so you will probably see some pictures of his trip to Ceibu shortly!!

Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus??!!!

Love in Japan can be pretty tricky. I've talked to some people and just seen some shows on TV (not sure how true it is here) about how men and women don't understand each other. This is an international problem and here I will focus on the Japanese mysteries.

Things Japanese Men do that mystify Japanese Women:
Why do they try their hardest to reel us in, but then lose interest once they land us?
Why are they under the impression that women who can cook are dependable and level-headed?
Why do they think it’s all over when they marry?
Even when they have a partner why do they participate in go-kon dating parties just to enjoy the party?
When they are with their friends why does their tough-talking increase?
When they think they can meet us any time why does their priority for us over their friends drop?
Why do they want to show off their manliness by trying to eat huge platefuls of spicy food?
Why are they afraid to ask someone when they don't understand something?
Why do they ignore us by endlessly talking about themselves?
Why are they unconcerned when a girl they like has them twisted around her finger so much?
Why do they hardly ever reply to casual emails?
Since thinning hair appeals less to women, why do they get touchy about the subject?
Why do they find vulnerability cute thus like us with no make-up?
Why do they always hate other guys looking at us when we wear skimpy clothing?
When they go out with other male friends, why do they really not want to take us along?
Why do they feel reluctant to do things they don’t like thus never tidy up?
Why do they not say words of love simply because it’s embarrassing?
Why do their eyes always end up on pretty girls?
Why do they like slightly less attractive girls rather than sexy or pretty ones?

Things Japanese Women do that mystify Japanese Men:
Trying to get much thinner than is really necessary
When one woman shouts “kawaii,” all the other women around in unison call out “kawaii.”
They go to a bathroom at the same time as each other.
After saying “I'll leave the choice to you,” they complain about it later.
They take far too long shopping.
Shave their eyebrows then draw them back in.
They feel the need to put makeup on every single day.
They say what they are thinking vaguely and indirectly.
    Crazy about fortunetelling.
They have separate stomachs for sweets and desserts.

Some of these mysteries are true for not only the Japanese but for men and women in other countries. Which ones can you relate to?

Top 25 Best Foods for the Summer

Here is a link -> (Summer Foods) to 25 good foods to eat during the summer.  You might not agree with some of the choices, but if you have a chance, you should definitely try some of them.

Some of my favorites are:

Spam Musubi!!!!  (a local from Hawaii's favorite)
Naeng Myeon (this is also awesome!  it's pretty much 冷麺)
Korean Fried Chicken!
Bun Cha (a very good Vietnamese dish that uses the same noodles as pho but with no soup)
Zaru Soba

Summer holidays

You may have noticed the blog is a little quiet this week.
Sorry about that.
We have been kind of busy here at the school
because Marine is on holiday in Hawaii!
We hope she is having a great time.
(I'm sure she will have some nice pictures
for us when she gets back.)
Next week I'm going to the Philippines!
 WooooHooooo!!!
Do you have any special plans for the summer Holidays?

A Croissada???

So what do you get if you mix a croissant and a malasada?

Well you get what is called a croissada.  I'm sure most of you have tried a croissant, but many have not tried a malasada.  It is a Portuguese style fried donut (without a hold) and is covered in sugar.

I'm not sure how to make a croissada but I'm definitely sure that it will be super ono!

So next time you go to Hawaii, try 'em!
