Words you don't need to know

I often discover new English words,
and sometimes they are rather strange.

Today's example is

Erinaceous

An adjective which means

Like a hedgehog

"The flock of birds is flying in a rather erinaceous shape."

  1. I looked for Erinaceous by a dictionary because I have never heard it before.
I found Erinaceidae which is a biological family name for a hedgehog.
This is an origin of Erinaceous, isn't it?
