The Hobbit - The desolation of Smaug

I went to see the new Hobbit movie when I was back
home for my holidays. It was good, I always like
Peter Jackson's "Middle Earth" films.

The barrel ride down the river was great fun,

and the dragon Smaug was cool.

It did feel very much like a middle movie though.
There was no beginning and no end,
as it is part 2 of a 3 part series.
If you like this kind of stuff, or you saw the first one,
then I'm sure you are going to see it anyway.

  1. How was a running time of the movie? I am sure Peter Jackson's movies are good, but a bit long. Seeing them, we should hold popcorn and cola.

  2. Very true Masa. At 161 min it does feel a little long, but it's got more exciting parts so it doesn't feel as slow as the first Hobbit film. You will definitely need your snacks and a bathroom break at some point. I think two movies would have been enough. Part 1 & 2 could easily been squashed into 1 movie. Part 3 is where all the good stuff will happen, (dragon killing and the battle of five armies) it's going to be one long fight from start to finish, I can't wait.
