Carry ti Jacques
Here is another recipe that is highly appreciated in Reunion. It is called "carry ti jacques". Like the "carry poulet", it is served on rice mixed with some onions, ginger and other spices. The ti jacques is an Indian fruit that Reunion started to cultivate in the XIXth (19th) century. It is pretty big and hard which is why you usually buy the fruit already cut into small pieces and ready to be cooked at the market. It is mixed with smoked pork. It is one of the dishes you can not miss when you go to Reunion!!
