The Hobbit : The Battle of Five Armies

I saw the final movie in the Hobbit trilogy recently and to be honest I was rather disappointed. The first two movies were not great but I didn't give up on them out of a sense of nostalgia. I kept thinking that the last one would make it all worthwhile. Well it didn't. At 2 and a half hours that makes the three movie together almost 9 hours. I could read the book faster than that! There really feels like a lot of time wasting. We needed two movies at the most. It starts well with a nice fight with the dragon Smaug but after that it gets stupid. There are so many ridiculous things that happen it just feels foolish by the end. Give this one a miss unless you saw the first two and feel you need to finish the story. And even in that case it's probably better to just wait for the DVD.

Gone Girl

Last night I went to the movie theater to watch Gone Girl. I know many people want to see that movie so of course no spoilers here!!! I was pretty happy with that movie! The atmosphere, the music play an important role in the movie. It is quite a long movie but you`re into it until the end. You have a few guesses about what may happen but personally a few things I didn`t expect happened and that was great! I love being surprised! Some characters (won`t say who) get darker and darker, some are different from what you`d expect... good movie guys! Should watch it!!!

Interstellar

I went to see the new Christopher Nolan film "Interstellar" last night. He is the same director who made the Batman trilogy and Inception so I was expecting it to be a bit dark and a bit crazy. Well it was OK. It tried to be realistic SF but in the end spoiled it with "magic" and the "power of love". Kinda disappointed with the end. Worth the watch, just not great.

Prisoners

While it was not at all a horror movie "Prisoners" is a good film for this creepy time of year. It is a mystery story about two little girls that get kidnapped. It looks at what is right and wrong, and how far someone would go to protect their children. Real people are much more scary than monsters.

I would have given it 5/5 but there are a few holes in the story.

The Amazing Spiderman 2

Lots of movie reviews recently. 

Guess it's because of the rainy weather.

Well I watched The Amazing Spider-man 2, 

and despite all the negative reviews I had heard, 

it was actually pretty good. 

The 2 main bad guys were really good characters. 

They were not really evil just unlucky. 

The actor who plays Peter Parker is not great, 

but you forget about that when he puts the costume on. 

Good action scenes, great special effects, 

even the soundtrack is well done. 

Also the ending is a bit of a shock.

 (I knew what was going to happen 
because I read the comics as a kid 

and Spider-man's girlfriend Gwen Stacy 
is famous for only one reason.) 

Much better than the last one.
