So last weeks poll question was
What is the meaning of the word "Bow"?
And the correct answer was...
All of them!!!

To bend forward at the waist as a show of respect. (75%)

A weapon that shoots arrows. (75%)
The front of a ship. (50%)

A kind of tied ribbon. (75%)

A tool used to play instruments
like the violin. (75%)

To bend or curve
"A bow legged cowboy". (25%)
They are all
Homographs (words that have the same spelling but a different meaning)
and some are Heteronyms
(same spelling but different sound)
MUHAHAHAHAHAH!
(That's my evil laugh!)
My guess was completely correct! But I was not confident about three options, the front of a ship, a kind of tied ribbon and to bend or curve. English is difficult because many words have plural meanings :'-(
ReplyDeleteWell done Masa!
ReplyDeleteYeah English can be frustrating!
But I think Japanese is difficult too…
