Check out RLE in the May edition of シティライフ 高槻 -茨木!And remember, it's pronounced "City Life" (si-tee laif) not shi-ti raifu, which means something a bit different in English!
We just received some really nice maps of the world and Japan for our café and they've sparked some pretty interesting conversations about where our guests have been, and where they want to travel to. Also, it's as if I've had a couple mini-lessons on the geography of Japan. Thanks guys!
So don't be a couch potato, and come by to show me where you were born and where you've been in Japan, or around the world! I'll show you some good places for spotting moose and eating maple syrup in Canada!

Hey RLE Fans!
What a busy week we have had! April is flying by and it will be Golden week before we know it. Today was quite exciting as we had one of our new students draw a big prize from our gift collection, a hello kitty makeup bag!! Congratulations!
Check out the photo below. This is an English vocabulary power book we keep in the café. There are lots of really interesting and sometimes funny English words to learn and practice. Make sure to take a look at it on your next visit!
If your toys are in a messy pile, are they in a jumble? Thanks for reading and see you soon!

Whatever happened to springtime?!
When it comes to learning a language, it's all about getting out and practicing it. You can read the textbooks, listen to podcasts or CDs and while this is all useful, it's the experience that ultimately matters the most. ろんよりしょうこ. Today, I helped a student explain her profession in English and learned a great deal about how much work goes into being a receptionist in a hospital. By the end of the lesson, she could explain just how VERY busy her work day is, and why hospitals become so busy during certain times of the year.
Once again, Rachel and I are pretty excited about Saturday morning Pre-School. Our lesson is spring-themed, even though the cherry blossoms have almost all fallen to the ground and it seems as though summer is already here in Osaka. Our craft for the day is extra fun, and I won't give away the suprise but I'm sure all the kids will be proud to show off their cute little creations.

Hey Everyone
Our RLE demos have been going well and adult classes start next week!! We are very excited and busy planning our lessons.
Next Saturday will be our 3rd playschool class and I am already eager to have craft and snack time. They are my favorite parts.
I have enjoyed meeting many students at our cafe. Our conversations have been very interesting and I have learned a lot about Japanese culture. Thank you for all your great advice and keep practicing your English!
Thanks for reading and see you soon!

Happy Easter Weekend!
Can you dance the Bunny Hop? Have you ever gone hunting for Easter eggs? That's exactly what we did today for Pre-School, and the whole school got involved! There were chocolate eggs hidden everywhere, and kids and adults alike were all excited to go hunting for them. Rachel and I put on our best rendition of the Bunny Hop, and let's hope all the laughs were not because we looked so goofy but because of our awesome moves. If you see any grown-ups walking around Tonda wearing paper plate bunny masks, you'll know they were at RLE this morning :)

Things are starting to pick up!
It has been over a week since we officially opened our school! この一週間でおお訪ねしてきたお客様ありがとうございます。 あとwebsite と blogを見てくれたお客様ありがとうございます。 We really enjoyed meeting and chatting with all of you. Our cafes were full of energy, and lots of lively voices and laughter could be heard. We especially had a great time with a trivia game called Brain Quest.
Although it is meant for 2nd grade students, there are a lot of fun questions. このゲームでけっこう盛り上がりました。 皆様もぜひこのクイズゲームを遊びに来てください。 See you!!!

Hey RLE fans!
Today was a busy day here at RLE. On top of our regular Chit Chat Café and lesson demos we had the local newspaper visit! We enjoyed talking to them about our school and even had a few photos taken during some of our demo classes. Later in the day we had fun making a video for the website. So make sure to come back and check that out once we have it posted!
We are all enjoying meeting our new students and getting to know you. Hope to see you again soon. Thanks for reading!!

Hello Everyone!
So the school has been open for one week, and so much has been going on! Lots of you came by for lesson demos and free 50 minute cafe sessions with your RLE flyer coupon. It was nice to see that so many in the neighborhood were excited to find out what our new school is about.Chit Chat Cafe has been so much fun so far. It's been nice to have a casual conversation over coffee with all the new and prospective students. While you guys get to know stuff about where us native teachers are from (Canada and the US), we get to discover new things about Japan too. It's been quite the cultural exchange.I hope to meet you too, so come by and say hi! Drinks are on us :)
